WHAT IS NUEVOS DESTINOS?
Nuevos Destinos is a follow-on activity for learners who have completed the original 52 episodes of Destinos. It returns to Raquel Rodríguez and the Castillo family, revisiting familiar characters and events while introducing a new mystery that unfolds over 15 episodes.
Designed primarily for intermediate and second-year Spanish students, Nuevos Destinos builds on the listening skills, vocabulary and grammar developed in the original series. Rather than returning to basic language instruction, it asks learners to follow longer conversations, more detailed narration and increasingly complex relationships among characters and events.
As the story unfolds, you will strengthen your ability to:
HOW TO PROCEED
The same general structure used for Destinos continues with Nuevos Destinos. The course begins with a “Get Started” module followed by three learning modules, each containing five video episodes together with the associated text, workbook activities and supporting resources.
Begin with the “Get Started” materials, then work through Episodes 1–15 in sequence. The activities are designed to help you strengthen listening comprehension, reinforce important grammar and vocabulary in context, and become increasingly comfortable following natural Spanish over an extended story.
Los materiales educativos asociados están organizados en tres módulos, cada uno de los cuales consta de cinco episodios.
Review the preliminary content which sets the stage for the 15 Nuevos Destinos episodes. Access important global resources for this intermediate level Spanish series.
Essential resources: Read strategies for maximizing the learning process and read and/or print essential “global resources” including text and workbook frontmatter and appendices.

These episodes also provide practice following Spanish spoken in different regional settings.

These episodes also strengthen your ability to infer meaning and motivation from context.
Not ready for Nuevos Destinos?
✈️ Return to Original DestinosThere is only one set of audio files for both the textbook and workbook/study guides. Each audio file is used for both. The textbook contains the “script” and reading that goes with the audio file. The Workbook (Manual de actividades) contains the actual blanks to be filled in while listening to the audio file.
The audio is specifically designed to “talk” you through both the textbook and workbook activities. For example, a narrator will say, “Lección uno. Comprensión. Ejercicio A…” and then provide the audio content used to respond to the workbook questions & activities.
3 May 2026:
The Q&A content needed attention. Originally (a long time ago) I included two different sets of questions from various sources. But the questions were redundant, some answers were wrong, and the number of questions was overwhelming. With a little AI help I went through every episode and combined the Q&A sets, grouped the questions, and checked the answers. It took three long, tedious days to complete. I hope you like the results.
